Privacy Policy

Mise with Love is a private chef service operating in Greater Edmonton & surrounding areas. For the purposes of Canadian privacy law we are the organisation responsible for the personal information described below.

When you submit a consultation request we collect the details you type into the form: your name, email address, phone number if you give one, the service you are interested in, your household size, how you heard about us, and any message you write.

We also collect dietary restrictions, allergies and food preferences if you choose to share them. Allergy and intolerance information is treated as health information under Canadian privacy law, and we treat it accordingly — it exists so that a chef can cook safely for your household, and it is not used for anything else.

If you sign up to hear about seasonal menus and availability, we collect your email address for that purpose only.

We do not ask for payment details through this website, and we do not collect them here.

To reply to your enquiry, to plan menus that are safe and suited to your household, and to run the service you have asked us about. Nothing more. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising.

Two service providers process information on our behalf so that this website can function:

• Vercel — hosts this website and processes the technical request data any web server receives.
• Web3Forms — delivers the contents of the contact and signup forms to our inbox. This means the details you submit, including any dietary and allergy information, pass through their systems in order to reach us.

Both may store or process data outside Canada, which means it can be subject to the laws of the country it is held in. We use them only to deliver and host, never to market to you.

Enquiries that do not become bookings are kept for up to two years, in case you come back to us, and then deleted. For active and past clients we keep dietary and menu records for as long as you are a client and for two years afterwards, because that history is what makes the cooking work. You can ask us to delete it sooner.

This website sets no advertising or tracking cookies and does not profile visitors. If that changes we will say so here first.

Under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and withdraw your consent at any time.

Email janer@misewithlove.com and we will respond within 30 days. There is no charge. If you are not satisfied with how we handle it, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.

If we change how we handle your information we will update this page and change the date at the top.
